About the Host – Matt Sands, CMM

Matt is an engineer with over 26 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. He was previously employed with Shell Exploration & Production Company and served in various engineering, planning, and leadership roles.  Matt owns Silverheels Investments LLC, a mineral rights and royalty interest consulting and investment company. He is currently the Immediate Past President of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO), Past President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of NARO, and is a Certified Mineral Manager (CMM).

Matt graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Engineering with a Mechanical Specialty and a Minor in Public Affairs.

When not helping other mineral owners, he enjoys spending time with his family in the Colorado outdoors mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, and golfing. Matt also holds amateur radio call sign KG0AT and is a frequent Summits on the Air (SOTA) activator.
