We have another amazing guest in this week’s episode. Justin and I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Jack Fleet, the Executive Director of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO).

Jack has a really interesting family history; his family’s roots in mineral ownership go back to before Oklahoma became a state. Also learn about how NARO is advocating on our behalf on state and national legislative issues and the resources available through NARO to help you quickly work your way up the learning curve to make the most of your minerals and royalties.

Who is Jack Fleet?

Currently, Jack is the Executive Director of the National Association of Royalty Owners, Inc. (NARO), where is advocates on the behalf of all mineral and royalty owners.  He supports all of the state and regional chapters of NARO. In 2020, he served as Interim Executive Director and is a past president of the NARO National board.

He has given back to NARO as a past president of the NARO Texas Chapter, has served on the Oklahoma NARO board, NARO Foundation, and NARO National Boards. He is also a member of the AAPL. Jack received his Certified Mineral Manager (CMM) at the professional level in 2011 and has taught CMM review classes.  

Jack has delivered several presentations involving mineral and royalty management at NARO events. He also works as an advocate for mineral and royalty owners at the State Capitol in Austin, Texas, giving testimony on the impact of legislation being considered.

Jack is the Managing Member of Fleet Dickey Mineral Properties, LLC one of his family’s mineral companies where he manages mineral, royalty, working and surface interest. Where he spends time working on negotiate lease terms, consideration, review oil and gas runs, and division orders.

Born in Fort Worth, Jack was raised in Dallas and Tulsa, currently resides in Houston, Texas. He grew up surrounded by his family’s oil and gas business which was founded by his great grandfather in Seminole I.T. (Indian Territory), Oklahoma prior to statehood. His earliest recollections of the oil and gas business include time spent with his father and grandfather visiting drill sites and talking with the tool pushers, while watching wells come in.

Jack graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Finance and Business Statistics in 1987. He worked in the Information Technology Industry for over 15 years, from International Value-Added Resellers to small PC integrators. He founded his own technology firm, Fleet Internet Technologies, LLC, in December of 2003.
